This was a week for the ages. The kids were still buzzing over the Exeter Win. And really, who could blame them? That was the game of all games this season. What an amazing game for our kids and coaches. Not to mention the parents and true fans. It's easy to see how we can all get caught up in up in High School Sports. These kids play for all the right reasons. Pride for their school, their community. but most importantly...they play for each other. Their team mates and their great coaching staff. The kids seemed loose at practice this week. It was hard not to get a little choked up thinking that this would be the last week on their field in Football pads. Yes some will be back during LAX, but this is Football. There's just something about Football that speaks volumes of team unity and a bonded brotherhood. It's easy for me, as a silent documenter to see it all and take it all in. I see and hear all the comments. The coaches colorful remarks. The Warriors ribbing one another and then offering heaps of praise. This team has come together this season and they have made tremendous strides the last 5 games. Last week's game against Exeter will last a lifetime worth of great memories. And whatever happens at States won't change a thing about their Exeter Victory. There's a chill in the air. And why shouldn't there be? We are one of two teams left in Division II . The rest of the Divsion's season is over. We are going to States in late November. Win or lose, we still have one more game to play. |
